Anorexia Nervosa


Anorexia is an eating disorder known as not being able to keep a normal body weight due to the fear of gaining excessive weight

The disease causes people to see a distored self image that alter how they evaluate and think about there body, food and eating




  • It is most common among dancers because they feel the need that they always have to be skinny





  • People with Anorexia continue to feel hunger but deprive themselves everything but small quantities of food




Bulimia Nervosa



  • An eating disorder that is the restraining of food intake over a period of time followed by binging that results in the feeling of guilt and low self-esteem

  • Bulimia is nine times more likely to occur in women than men

  • Bulimia also consists of fasting, the use of laxatives, enemas, and diuretics






Binge Eating








  • An eating disorder that consists of uncontrollable eating
  • Most people with this disorder often feel ashamed about being over weight or depressed about their overeating
  • Someone with this disorder may try to compensate for the effects of overeating. Examples include purging, induced vomiting or laxative abuse, fasting, and heavy exercising
